Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. As for mine, it was spent with family and we had a very nice day.
The fishing was great on Friday, as I had Jim Stenhouse and his 3 sons down. The big trout were very aggressive, annihilating top dogs in the rafts of mullets. They were running 18-in. to 24-in. We also caught several nice reds on the LSU Bayou Chub Minnow. Jim and his boys had a great time and were sent home with a 54-quart box full of trout and redfish filets. They are planning another trip later this year.
Saturday was also a good day, as a 6.1-lb. and a couple of 5-lbs. specs were caught using live cocahoe minnows.
Today Chuck Dixon had the fever, even though the wind was bad. We left about noon and fished top dogs until about 6:00 p.m. and gave up fighting the wind. We finished up with a mess of trout and a couple of reds. One trout was in the 4-lb. range. Those dogs even catch fish in tough conditions. I am starting tomorrow with the QTS group. I hope the north wind doesn't mess us up too bad.
Call for accommodations and rates, if you want to get in on some of the best fishing in South Louisiana.
Until next time, Good Luck Fishing!!!
