Hopedale Inside Marsh Fishing Report,

If you like fishing and kite flying, today was the day to do both. Don and I left out of Pip’s Place under overcast skies and cold weather and decided to only fish and leave the kite flying for others to do. It was a calm morning with clear water and an all-day falling tide—ingredients that make for good inside fishing. We started out in Grand Slam Lagoon where trout were obliging on 3-inch Berkley Gulp shrimp under Cajun torpedo and clicking corks fished 3 ˝ ft down. Trout fishing was fast early morning but slowed around mid morning as the winds picked up. We moved to several other spots and other boats were also on the search and there were plenty of them today. We finally landed into them and the fishing was steady but not fantastic. Between the both of us, we caught our limit (50 specks) before noon- and we must have thrown back another 25 undersized ones. Hunters were also out today blasting the sky away.

Good fishin’,
