Trophy Smallmouth Bass season is now open on Lake Erie and fishing is very good for big fish! I've had a 3rd (11.76 pounds for 2 Smallies) and 6th (10.26 pounds for 2 Smallies) place finishes the first 2 tournaments I've fished. I ran a charter yesterday that we had 23 Smallies with 6 of them over 5 pounds (15 Smallmouths over 5# with 1 at 6.14 pounds)! Water temperature is still only 42-46 degrees and fishing should even improve! The shoreline between Hamburg and Strugeon Point has been best area right now because it has the warmest water. Many fish are still deep and should be moving shallower and dispersing to the various structures from Buffalo to Barcelona. If you would like to get in on some these Monster Smallmouths, I have a few openings available, give me a call at 716-433-5848 or 716-228-7334 email; [email protected] or for more info see; www.captainbarry.com
