Period Ending November 22, 2004:

Hi Folks,
Happy Thanksgiving to all. We have had and are having a great fishing season and even without that I have a lot to be thankful about. Fishing is very good now. Today for example we caught the inshore slam: trout, flounder and drum. The speck weighted in at 5.4 pounds...nice!

Inshore: We are having good catches of speckled trout. A few flounder are still around and red and black drum are accommodating as well. The water temperature today was 63 degrees so we have a lot of good fishing left.

Near Shore: Gray trout are biting on jigs at the near shore reefs. Bluefish are schooling as are false albacore. Large red drum are patrolling the beaches.

Offshore: King mackerel are still biting as long as you can find 67 to 68 degree water...18 to 30 miles out. Large schools of false albacore are in this range as well.

Gulfstream: Wahoo and tuna are being caught. It won't be long before the bluefin show up. Although they are sporadic in our area, up in Morehead, they are usually plentiful.

There are still plenty of good fishing days ahead, so try to make plans to get out on the water and enjoy the good fall fishing.

My fishing school response has been wonderful. The school is almost half sold out, so if you have been thinking about signing up, please don't wait. I can assure you will have fun and learn a lot about inshore fishing.

Don't miss the pic of the week...the 5.4 pound speck at http://www.rodmancharters.com/report.htm

Again, happy Thanksgiving and...
Let's Go Fishing!!!
